Membership has its advantages...in addition to AWS Merch discounts, there are two key benefits.
1. Event registration is open weeks in advance before it goes out to our full mailing list. Allowing you to secure your spot early!
2. Member-only events. Experience some of the very limited whiskies where we were able to secure a bottle or two only. Not to be missed by any whisky lover.
A few event highlights
Our first ever road-trip. Cooper Sleeman welcomed AWS for a great tour and tasting event at Spring Mill Distillery. We'll be back!
Keith welcomed the AWS once again in a dram-filled backyard event. Burgers 'n Drams go so well together!
Always a treat to have fresh pizza in the Lavis' backyard. Great drams, great friends...a perfect summer backyard get-together
In good tradition, our annual The Macallan event did not disappoint. Paired with a delicious dining experience, we sampled a number of fantastic Macallan drams including the Time:Space collectors bottle!
The 11th Edition of the Chats Fundraiser did again not disappoint! Keith guided a sold-out room at Stonehaven through 5 exceptional drams!
Continuing the great tradition of AWS to serve virtual drams in December! Great lineup this year: Machrie Moor Peated, Craigellachie 2003, GlenAllachie 18, Laphroaig Cairdeas 2023 and Glenfarclas 15 KWM Edition!
Our first ever bourbon-only night. Paired with a delicious 5 courses by Chef Marcia, this was a night to remember. Premium bourbons served included Blanton's Special Reserve, E.H Taylor Jr. Small Batch, 1792 Sweet Wheat, Little Book Chapter 5 and Stagg Jr. Batch 9.
With a great buffet created by Chef Roger Wakileh and 5 beautiful drams to enjoy, we can comfort ourselves that its already the end of summer! The fantastic lineup included the Glengoyne 15, Clynelish Game of Thrones edition, Clynelish 10 Diageo Edition, Roseiole 12 and the Lagavulin 11 Run Cask Offerman Edition!
Another great collaboration with Rob & Marcia at Sweet Dutchess. A delicious spread of cheese, charcuterie and chocolate combined with a few hard-to find whiskies made this a fantastic summer event! Oban 10yr Diagio Release, Turntable Track 01, Wolfburn Northland, Ardnamurchan and Glen Scotia Victoriana all did not disappoint!
Our second edition "Macallan Event" definitely did not disappoint. Keith, freshly inspired and still on a high from his trip to Scotland, came back to take us on a Macallan Journey while showing off all his new-found knowledge on the whisky-making process. Our whisky samples highlighted the broad range and mastership The Macallan brings to this wonderful spirit.
About Us
Started in early 2017, the Aurora Whisky Society is a collection of fellow whisky admirers that decided it was time to setup regular meets to share tasting experiences, good food and great company.
Since 2017 there have been several events with great guest speakers and opportunities to taste a number of fantastic whisky expressions. As active participants in the Aurora community we hope to organize several charitable events that benefit those in need.
